2010 brought lots of growth in the Suzu clan. First, Sisi ( US/CAN CH Suzu N Aristotles' Sisi JH CGC)and Lewis( BISS GCH CH Annian's Great Explorer JH) had a litter of 5 girls and 1 boy. And next, Crystal's ( US/CAN CH Suzu's Crystal Clear Jasper) aka Sila and ( CH Szikra's Comfort Food) aka Tayto had 6 boys. Later in the year Jolli ( US/CAN/MEX CH Szizlin Suzu Phalcon's Joules JH CGC) sired a litter with Zsa-Zsa of Buffalo, NY. They had 8 puppies. 6 girls and 2 boys. Two of the puppies are here in the NY area. We look forward to seeing great things out of these puppies. In the coming year we have 3 litters planned again. Sisi and Jolli's litter will be born around February 6th, Cookie ( US/CAN CH C is for Cookie) and Hardy ( US/CAN CH GCH Suzu's Hard Nut to Crack) are scheduled to breed next week with puppies expected at the end of March. Lastly, Sila and Tayto will have a repeat breeding soon after that. Feel free to contact Crystal at Briar Vizslas for more information about either Cookie's or Sila's litters at Briarvizslas.com

Good-bye Sweet Hoover
It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that I had to have Hoover put down on Monday, January 17, 2011. He succumbed to a very aggressive and devastating form of cancer which we believe may be hermangiosarcoma. Tissues have been sent for analysis to determine exactly what type of cancer he had. Hoover was my first Vizsla and the reason that I got into this crazy life of showing and breeding dogs. Hoover was not a show dog nor was he a hunter. He loved pacing around the kitchen counter and had this very annoying barky tantrum, but that is what I miss about him the most. Thank you Hoover for opening my life to the wonderful world of dogs. I miss you. And one last thing, Hoover where is my shoe?

Hardy and Cookie to be bred within the week
Hardy and Cookie will be bred within the week. These puppies will be bred and raised by Crystal of Briar Vizslas. This will be the first time that 2 vizslas that I have bred will be having a litter together. I am oh so excited. If you want in on this litter make sure to either call me or Crystal asap. There is already great interest in the puppies who should be to die for!

US & CAN CH Suzu N Aristotle's Sisi JH CGC & US/CAN/MEX CH Szizlin Suzu Phalcon's Joules JH tiny buns in the oven.
Suzu has bred Sisi for the third time. This time she was bred to Jolli. If you are interested in getting another puppy, or if you have a friend who would be interested, please let me know as soon as possible. I am taking names for a short wait list. Sisi (US/CAN CH Suzu N Aristotle’s Sisi JH CGC) was bred to our Jolli (US/CAN/MEX CH Szizlin Suzu Phalcon's Joules JH CGC) the #13 Vizsla of 2009. We think that this breeding will give us some very nice looking puppies with great temperaments. Check out more about Jolli on his pages on this website. Both Sisi and Jolli are members of CHIC having all their health clearances.
Puppies are due around February 6th. After the puppies go to their homes, both Sisi and Jolli will head back to the hunting field and work on their Senior Hunter test. Wish us luck!

Grand Champion US CH and CAN CH Suzu's Hard Nut to Crack takes multiple Group placements
Last year Hardy earned his Grand Championship with Patty Crowley, his loving and talented handler. 2010 was Hardy's show dog-in-training year. He finished the year as the #15 Vizsla in the country and the #13 Vizsla in the Sporting Group with multiple Group placements. Not bad for a year-in-training.
Recently, I requested for all my puppies, 2 years and older, to get OFA Certified to show that their hips have no Hip Dysplasia. My goal is that all puppies get x-rayed. If only the puppies that are in the breeding program get tested, that gives me a very narrow picture of how healthy all of the hips are. So please if you have a Suzu puppy, get her/him x-rayed and submit the x-rays to the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation of Animals.) I do have a couple of good Vets who will do the x-rays for a reasonable price. Call me for the information. If enough of you contact me, I’ll try and make arrangements to take a group of the puppies there for the x-rays or we can meet there. After you get the results from the OFA, then let me know for my database.
This year I am aiming towards a special goal. I would like to earn the title of a Breeder of Merit. To achieve this title I will need help from some of you. The only requirements that I still need to fullfill is getting all the puppies registered with the AKC. So far most of you have registered your dogs, but we do have a few of outstanding puppies. If you own one of these puppies, please try and register them as soon as possible. If you can't find your paper work or if you send in the wrong papers, please let me know and I'll help you out. There has been a slight change in that now you need my permission to use my kennel name of Suzu. You need to send you your signed papers and enclose a check to the AKC.
- I am once again saddened to tell you that Suzu's Brody, Sisi's brother passed away just around the New Year. It seems that he had contracted a very aggressive fungal infection. It is so sad to loose a dog while still in his prime. David and Alli will surely miss their soul mate. Brody was just over 5 1/2 years old. Our hearts go out to all the Dorfman's as they deal with their loss.
